Your Country Your Call is a major national economic competition which is open to all at home and abroad. This competition seeks to identify major proposals that will, when implemented have a visible economic impact, creating both business and employment.

The initiative is the brainchild of Martin McAleese and he has the backing of all the key figures from industry banking, commercial enterprise groups and academia. All of them have committed to giving up free advice, resource, programming, airtime and so forth.

Ed started his career in media in 1992 in the TV buying department of MediaVest. He stayed there for 5 years moving from TV buying into research and then strategic planning.

In 1997 he moved to BMPinteraction (now Tribal DDB) to established a digital media buying practice in the then full service digital agency, working on Pepsi, Compaq, Vodafone and Budweiser.

In 1999 he was part on the startup team of i-level, the UK leading independent digital media planning and buying business. During his 9 years at the agency, it grew to annual digital billings of £100million and 170 employees. As Strategy Director he helped them win over 50 awards including 8 agency of the year titles, 2 IPA Effectiveness Awards and the Queens Award for Innovation.

In 2008 he left to found AnalogFolk, an agency focussed on integrated digital and analogue communications, working with LVMH, Ascis, SEAT and the Science Museum.

He re joined the media agency world in October 2009 as Managing Director of MEC Global Solutions, tasked with leading agency growth, it's focus on client servicing and digital acceleration.

He was named ‘Number One Digital Media Planner’ by Campaign and one of the Top 10 Digital Talent in Campaign’s 2007 Annual Review.

In support of the work of his wife, Mary McAleese, President of Ireland, Dr. McAleese has sought to develop greater trust and reconciliation among communities in Northern Ireland, in particular, the working class loyalist community in his native Belfast. Since 1997 Dr. McAleese has been involved in various initiatives in this regard and has worked to encourage the promotion of political alternatives to violence. He has been instrumental in locating sources of funding for a number of community projects in Northern Ireland and, in particular, in the loyalist working class areas. Following the commencement of the President’s new term of office in November 2004, Dr. McAleese continues his work in this area. He has also undertaken voluntary projects overseas in countries such as Honduras where he has utilised his dental training for the benefit of poor communities in that country.

Dr McAleese is also the inspiration and driving force behind the Your Country Your Call initiative.

Prior to the advent of social media, Israel advised technology startup companies on communications. He worked with the startups that initially launched Sun Microsystems, PowerPoint, PC sound and desktop mapping. When the Worldwide Web emerged, Israel consulting agency became the first to focus on internet startups and working with several memorable pioneers of that era.
Since 2005, Israel has focused exclusively on social media and how it is used in business, education, journalism, nonprofit organizations and in global personal communications.
Israel has been covered by Forbes magazine, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the Los Angeles Times and many respected online and traditional publications.
He is a popular keynote speaker. Since 2006, he has addressed more than 100 audiences in nine countries on social media business topics.

Russell was born in Derby, enjoyed an uneventful childhood, did college, all that. After failing as a popstar and a joke writer he ended up in advertising and tried to do ‘interactive marketing’ way before anyone was interested. Ended up at Wieden + Kennedy working on clients like Microsoft, Nike and Honda. Then he went to work for Nike as Global Consumer Planning Director. He went freelance in 2006 and works with shadowy organisations like the Open Intelligence Agency and the Really Interesting Group. He also writes eggbaconchipsandbeans occasionally organises ‘Interesting’ conferences, plays with things like speechification, dawdlr and slowpoke and does columns for Campaign magazine and Wired UK.

If asked what he actually does all day, he’ll normally mutter something about ‘post-digital’.

After a few eventful years as a theatre director followed by marketing roles at the Arts Council of England, at the BBC, BBC worldwide and at UK charities, Martin formed a digital marketing agency for the Arts and media sectors creating some of the earliest digital marketing in the UK. In 2000, Martin joined glue as Planning Director and a founding partner. Martin is a regular lecturer at the Institute of Direct Marketing, a founding member of the IPA Direct Marketing Committee, a member of the IPA strategy group and writes and lectures widely on marketing, business and technology.

Tim has worked largely in film and TV Commercial production and post production for the last 10 years. Working with Windmill Lane, Screen Scene and Toytown Films as assistant producer.

He took time off in 2004 to work with international telecoms firm Mount Wilson where he quickly rose to the position of head of production and business development opening up operations in Australia and The US for the firm, growing revenues and expanding the investment portfolio.

With his group company Mercuryboy inc starting to secure large production contracts, Tim moved back into media production and development, while maintaining interests in telecoms and mobile.

When the iPhone released, Tim and his business partner decided to develop a small application for the handset, proving a success and proving a market. MercuryGirl was born in 2009 as a mobile software and web design company working with clients such as RTE, Etihad Airlines, The Irish Times, Meteor, Eircom, Agency.com and TBWA.

MercuryGirl inc now has 4 applications in the Apple App store, 3 in completion on development as of October 09, and 6 further video distribution and premium content apps wit full investment for production and delivery. MercuryGirl also has one Google Android app NextDart which uses Augmented reality. MercuryGirl are also only 1 of 100 authorized worldwide developers for the layr platform on Google Android.
